The RECONNECT Study

You are invited to take part in a research study run by the Department of Emergency Medicine and Queen’s University. The goal of the RECONNECT Study is to improve care experiences in the Kingston General Hospital (KGH) emergency department and the Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) urgent care centre. The RECONNECT Study team wants to make sure that everyone can get help when they are sick and feel that they were treated with care and respect.

You can take part in this study if you are over the age of 16 and have visited the KGH emergency room or HDH urgent care centre in the last 12 months.

The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete. You will be asked to tell a story about a time you visited the emergency department in the last 12 months. Then, you will answer questions about this story. The experiences you share can be good or bad. Participants will get a $5 coffee card after finishing the survey.

The survey can be completed by using this link:

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a research assistant at 613-549-6666 ext. 7776 from 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday.
