Kingston Interval House

Kingston Interval House is an emergency shelter. They provide services for women, children and youth who are experiencing violence. They are open 24/7, 365 days a year, and offer counselling, accommodation, clothes, toiletries, and more.

L&A Interval House

Lennox & Addington Interval House is a safe house for abused women and their children for up to 6 weeks. They provide services for those who have been abused physically, sexually, emotionally, or financially. They also provide services for those who fear that they will be assaulted. They offer counseling, crisis intervention, and safety planning.

Elder Abuse Prevention

Elder Abuse Ontario works to prevent elder abuse from happening in Ontario. They provide educational resources to the public and to professionals, they advocate for legislation that protects seniors and those at risk of elder abuse, and provide services to support victims of elder abuse and/or neglect.

Elder Law Clinic

The Elder Law Clinic provides free legal assistance to elders. Services include planning wills and powers of attorney, completing guardianship applications, or certificates of appointment. They also work in cases of elder abuse and/or neglect.

Sexual Assault Centre

The Sexual Assault Centre Kingston works to assist survivors, 14 years and older, of sexualized violence. Their services are free, confidential, and non-judgmental. Services include counselling, education and information, advocacy, and referrals.


Addictions & Mental Health Services of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington

AMHS-KLFA provides a wide range of services and programs related to mental health and addiction. In their addiction services, they provide individual and group counselling, support for families and friends of a person with an addiction concern, gambling services, services for mothers with addictions concerns, Drug Treatment Court services, and the Ministry of Transportation’s Back on Track program.

Hotel Dieu Hospital Rehab

Hotel Dieu Hospital provides a detoxification service for those who are looking to detoxify from alcohol or drugs. It is a short-term, non-medical service for men and women. Services include counselling, referrals to community services, self-help groups, and other treatment programs.


Youth Diversion provides Kairos, which is a free counselling service for youth who are dealing with substance use personally, or with a family member. It is an outreach program that is provided in every local elementary and secondary school, as well as in group homes and alternative education sites.

National Cancer Institute – Tobacco

This resource provides information about tobacco and the risks of using tobacco.

National Council on Seniors Drug & Alcohol Rehab

The National Council on Seniors Drug & Alcohol Rehab provides information, resources and treatment for care providers and seniors battling addiction and related conditions

Ontario Addiction Treatment Centre

OATC is an agency that provides addiction treatment options such as methadone and suboxone. They are committed to improve the lives of those who are impacted by drug addiction.

Quit Smoking Community

Quit Smoking Community is a resource that offers information and support around quitting smoking online.

YMCA Kingston Youth Gambling Program

YMCA offers educational resources and workshops for schools and organizations that work with youth, parents, teachers, and health professionals. They also provide referrals to gambling treatment services.

AMHS provides a range of services. These lines provide 24/7 support if you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis in the KLF&A area.

The Assaulted Women’s Helpline: 1-866-863-0511

This is a 24h telephone and TTY crisis line that provides counselling, emotional support, information, and referrals for all women who have experienced abuse.

Mental Health Helpline: 1-866-531-2600

This helpline is a service to receive free health service information related to mental health.

Ontario Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-888-230-3505

This helpline is a service to receive free health service information related to gambling.

Drug and Alcohol Helpline: 1-800-565-8603

This helpline is a service to receive free health service information related to drug and alcohol addictions.

Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line: 1-888-687-9688

This line provides confidential and non-judgemental LGBTTQQ2SI support. They provide a helpline service, texting service, and an online chat service.

Telehealth Ontario: 1-866-797-0000

This line provides medical advice 24/7. A registered nurse will help you assess the health problem and to make a decision about the level of care you may need.

Bereaved Families Ontario is committed to providing peer support services and programs to help others learn to live with grief.

CMHA Suicide Survivors

This group is for those who have lost a family member or friend to suicide, or for those who are supporting someone who has lost someone to suicide.

Narcotics Anonymous

This is a group for recovering addicts who are now practicing complete abstinence from all drugs.

Alcoholics Anonymous

This is a support program for those who want to recover from a drinking problem. 

Gamblers Anonymous

This is a support group for those who wish to stop gambling.

Depressive & Manic Depressive Self-Help

This is a support group for those who have mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, etc.

Family Resource Centre

This support group is for friends and family of someone who is dealing with mental illness, addiction, or problem gambling.

PFLAG Canada – support group for families and friends of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgendered people

This group provides support for friends and families of LGBT peoples.

Healthy Babies Healthy Children

This is a home visiting support program for pregnant women and families with children from birth to school age.

Overeaters Anonymous

This is a support group for those who have a challenged relationship with food. This can include compulsive overeating, under-eating, food addiction, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and over-exercising.

Male Victims Standing Tall

This is a support group for male victims and survivors of sexual abuse, and spousal abuse. They offer one-on-one counselling and group sessions for a fee.

Mothers Circle

This is an educational support group for new mothers.


Family Law Info Centre

Limestone Mediation provides mediation services at a fee that is determined on a sliding scale. They work in child protection, elder mediation, and community/workplace mediation.

This resource provides information about what your legal rights are in many areas of law.


Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers

This resource provides the code of ethics in which all social workers and social service workers are expected to work within. It also provides a search tool to locate a worker.

Ontario Association for Marriage & Family Therapy

This Association regulates marriage and family therapists in Ontario. They provide a search tool to find a therapist in Ontario.
